The Wee Kitchen Cookery School offers relaxed, hands-on Scottish cooking experiences for visitors to Edinburgh. Designed for FITs and groups, our private masterclasses combine traditional Scottish food, local produce and plenty of opportunities to cook, taste and learn along the way.
Give your clients the chance to experience Scottish food beyond the restaurant table.
Our private cooking experiences are designed to slot easily into Edinburgh itineraries, offering a relaxed and sociable way to discover Scotland through its food.Â
Based in Leith and within easy reach of Edinburgh city centre, The Wee Kitchen can accommodate groups of different sizes, with experiences tailored to suit your itinerary, timings and clients.
We work with tour operators, DMCs, travel agents and group organisers to create experiences for both independent travellers and private groups.
A hands-on introduction to Scottish food, bringing together traditional dishes, local ingredients and the stories behind some of Scotland’s best-known flavours.
Guests cook for themselves, learning to make Scottish favourites such as Cullen Skink and homemade shortbread, with the option to personalise the experience with additional dishes including haggis bon bons with whisky cream sauce and cranachan.
There’s plenty to taste along the way too, from Scottish cheeses to a sip of Irn-Bru. It’s a relaxed and sociable way to experience Scottish food culture, with everyone sitting down together at the end to enjoy what they have made.
Our Traditional Scottish Masterclass can be booked as a complete experience or tailored to suit your clients and itinerary.
The standard masterclass offers a relaxed introduction to Scottish cooking, while private groups can personalise their experience with additional dishes, tastings and Scottish touches. If you’re working with a particular group size, schedule or itinerary, get in touch and we can discuss what will work best.
This was something completely different for me, learnt new skills, and a really fun way to spend a Saturday morning! Most importantly the food was DELICIOUS.
Wow! This was utterly amazing, the tastes were absolutely wonderful and Ailsa took us through each step in such a patient, easy to follow manner. She is such a star.
Fantastic, really easy all ingredients included, everything weighed out for me, instructions step by step. Ailsa is very friendly and a good instructor.
My partner and I had a great time - Ailsa is such an engaging teacher and the recipes are delicious! Bonus points for supporting a great charity too!
